Job description
Job Summary
This role serves as the strategic financial leader for the property, responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive financial strategies aligned with brand expectations and business objectives. The position drives financial expertise to support brand services and initiatives while optimizing investment returns. It encompasses crafting and executing business plans consistent with the property’s and brand’s strategic vision, alongside managing financial and accounting functions to produce desirable financial outcomes.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should hold either a bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting (or a related discipline) with at least two years of relevant experience, or a master's degree in the field with no prior work experience requirements.
Core Responsibilities
- Analyze financial data and current market trends to inform strategic decision-making.
- Forecast sales versus expenses, compiling annual budgets and monitoring actual sales against projections.
- Devise methods to enhance profitability by estimating costs and benefits and identifying new business opportunities.
- Investigate discrepancies between budgeted and actual wages to refine budget planning efficiency.
- Break down complex financial data to uncover foundational principles and facts.
- Develop and implement innovative business strategies thoughtfully and pragmatically.
- Safeguard competitive advantage through advocating sound financial and business decisions.
- Ensure robust accounting and operational controls to protect assets and improve profitability.
- Establish control systems to manage and mitigate business risks.
- Lead and influence accounting teams leveraging strong communication and interpersonal skills, exemplifying integrity and accountability.
- Clearly communicate strategic priorities and assign accountability with authority to team members.
- Support property goals from a financial and accounting perspective, submitting timely reports and ensuring profit and loss documentation is accurate.
- Manage audit processes, ensuring corrections are made as necessary and reviewing audit findings for accuracy.
- Administer tax compliance, ensuring correctness and accrual as applicable.
- Generate precise and prompt reports and presentations, adhering to standard and local operating procedures.
- Oversee compliance with internal standards including SOPs and LSOPs.
- Understand and address stakeholder needs including owners, corporate teams, and guests, aligning with ROI expectations.
- Advise management on financial and operational issues, participate in owner meetings to provide context on financial outcomes.
- Conduct orientation and training programs for new hires, promote cross-training, and develop staff based on individual capabilities and aspirations.
