Contributions & Growth Planner

Role Overview

This role involves overseeing a variety of extensive and complex strategic land use and planning policy initiatives, including developing, implementing, and monitoring Council’s development contributions programs. The planner will also coordinate planning efforts to ensure sufficient infrastructure for the Shire and undertake comprehensive reviews of the strategic planning framework. Providing accurate planning information punctually and facilitating inclusive community engagement are also key aspects of this position.

Responsibilities

The role ensures that policies and strategies align with the goal of fostering and maintaining a high-quality natural and built environment. This includes valuing heritage, promoting livable communities, and advancing sustainable transport options.

Requirements

• Possession of tertiary qualifications in Town Planning, Urban and Regional Planning, Geography, Business, Law, or equivalent fields.
• Thorough understanding of the NSW Environmental Planning and Assessment Act related to development contributions and community infrastructure provision.
• Proven capability to prepare Development Contributions plans and related documentation compliant with statutory standards and reflecting best practices.
