Job description

About Whittens

With over 25 years of experience operating across Western Australia, New South Wales, and Queensland, Whittens is a family-owned national civil construction contractor in Australia. The company undertakes large-scale and technically demanding projects involving FRP (Form, Reo, Pour), concrete, earthworks, and civil infrastructure for major mining and infrastructure clients.

Whittens values strong relationships and a team-centered culture, promoting a workplace that prioritizes safety, support, respect, and opportunities for skill growth to contribute to successful project completion.

We are seeking Contracts Administrators to join our project teams, with roles both offsite and onsite. Positions operate on a 2/1 FIFO roster from Melbourne, Brisbane, or Sydney, or can be performed remotely. This includes overseeing head contract management, bill of quantities, and claims within projects. The projects cover large-scale FRP and underground tunnel infrastructure.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commerce, Law, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering is required.
  • Relevant experience working as a Contracts Administrator with a Civil Contractor is essential.
  • Experience with self-performing contractors on large-scale remote infrastructure projects is highly valued.
  • Strong ability to comprehend, interpret, and administer contracts and subcontracts, handling both downstream and upstream contract processes.
  • Good knowledge of cost control and financial reporting.
  • Excellent attention to detail and precision in work.

What We Offer

  • Competitive and generous salary package, with site allowances and weekly superannuation payments.
  • Opportunity to work alongside established leadership and supportive teams.
  • A strong focus on safety in all activities.
  • Eligibility for cash bonuses through the employee referral program.
  • Discounted health insurance coverage.
  • Paid parental leave provisions.
  • Novated lease options for vehicles.
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Program for wellbeing support.
  • Long-term permanent employment with opportunities to contribute to diverse projects across Australia.
