Role Overview
We have an opening for a Contract Manager (Senior Consultant) based in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. This onsite role involves embedding within a contractor’s team to provide comprehensive commercial, contractual, and claims management support throughout a major complex project lifecycle. Prior experience in Middle East projects and client approval is essential.
Responsibilities
- Manage contract administration, interpret contractual obligations, monitor milestones, and maintain contract documentation across projects.
- Identify contractual and commercial risks, provide advice, draft correspondence and notices, and support risk mitigation strategies.
- Deliver commercial and contractual assistance including managing main contracts, subcontracts, variations, and related matters.
- Evaluate impacts of project changes on cost, schedule, risk, and contractual entitlement.
- Work collaboratively with project teams and stakeholders to resolve commercial issues, manage subcontractor relationships, and assist in negotiations.
- Lead preparation and handling of contractual claims and Extension of Time (EOT) submissions, assessing entitlements from delays and variations.
- Analyze and coordinate information to support claims negotiations and resolution.
- Contribute contractual expertise in meetings, reporting, risk management, and decision-making processes.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relations, enhance communication to foster collaboration and uphold professional standards.
- Mentor junior team members and promote technical capability development within the wider team.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in quantity surveying, engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ post-graduate experience with proven exposure to construction, infrastructure, or major projects in the Middle East.
- Experience with a specialist claims or expert witness consultancy preferred.
- Contractor-side experience is essential.
- Strong familiarity with contract administration, commercial management, and claims procedures.
- Professional accreditation such as MRICS or MCIArb.
- Demonstrated client-facing experience.
- Knowledge of delay analysis methodologies.
- Proficiency with industry software including Primavera, Microsoft Project, CostX, and MS Office (especially Excel).
- Advanced data management and analytical skills.
- Excellent report writing and communication capabilities.
