Role Overview
The Content Manager position involves overseeing the planning, creation, organization, and analysis of digital content across music, video, social media, and web platforms. This full-time hybrid role based in Bloemfontein includes managing content schedules, coordinating release efforts with artists and labels, and ensuring consistent brand messaging in all campaigns. Daily duties encompass briefing and evaluating creative content, optimizing metadata for streaming services, collaborating with marketing and artist relations, and analyzing data to enhance audience engagement and revenue.
Key Duties
- Develop and maintain content calendars reflecting digital release plans and promotional campaigns.
- Coordinate with artists, labels, and internal teams to ensure smooth content rollout and cohesive branding.
- Review and provide feedback on creative assets to meet quality and brand standards.
- Optimize metadata and descriptions for enhanced visibility on streaming platforms.
- Monitor content performance analytics to inform improvements in engagement and monetization.
- Manage content libraries and ensure compliance with digital rights requirements and platform guidelines.
- Prepare regular reports detailing performance insights to support data-driven decision-making.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrated expertise in content planning and management, including the creation of editorial calendars and digital release strategies.
- Proficiency with digital content management and analytics tools such as YouTube Studio, Spotify for Artists, and social media management platforms.
- Comprehensive understanding of music distribution processes, digital rights management, monetization strategies, and streaming/social media best practices.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of tailoring messages appropriately for artists, labels, internal teams, and international audiences.
- Effective organizational and project management abilities, capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a hybrid environment.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, demonstrating sound judgment, meticulous attention to detail, and respect for diverse creative styles.
- Experience in the music, entertainment, or digital media sectors, particularly within content operations, marketing, or artist/label services, is highly advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree in Media, Communications, Marketing, Music Business, or related disciplines, or equivalent relevant experience.
