Overview

Ahalia Hospital in Abu Dhabi, UAE, seeks a skilled Consultant Neurologist to deliver extensive neurological care. The role involves managing diverse neurological disorders and providing exceptional patient-focused services in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Eligibility and Licensing

  • Authorization to work within the UAE is required.
  • Possession of a valid UAE medical license, such as DOH, DHA, or MOH, is essential.
  • Relevant qualifications and proven experience as a Consultant Neurologist are mandatory.
  • Strong clinical aptitude, communication abilities, and patient management skills are expected.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and prescribe treatments and medications for neurological diseases including stroke, neurotrauma, demyelinating illnesses, and neurodegenerative conditions.
  • Collaborate closely with specialists in orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, emergency medicine, pain management, physiotherapy, and radiology departments.
  • Provide specialized care in areas such as sleep disorders, neuroimmunology, neurogenetics, and behavioral neurology.
  • Refer suitable cases for vestibular function tests and polysomnography (sleep studies).
  • Perform and assess lumbar punctures, EEGs, EMGs, and nerve conduction velocity diagnostics.
  • Maintain thorough patient documentation covering symptoms, treatments, and medication updates promptly and accurately.
  • Provide counseling to patients regarding their neurological conditions and treatment plans.
  • Keep abreast of latest advancements and therapies in neurology through continuous professional development.
