Job description
Position Overview
Based in Singapore, the Electrical Engineering Consultant will join WSP's Advisory team, providing versatile technical support across multiple sectors including Property & Buildings, Transport & Infrastructure, Power & Energy, and Earth & Environment. The role involves contributing electrical expertise to develop proposals, conduct technical due diligence, and support feasibility studies by prioritizing tasks dynamically based on live project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed electrical engineering content for advisory proposals and technical due diligence reports, encompassing risk assessments and power system reviews in building services, power generation, transmission, and distribution.
- Collaborate closely with Key Account Managers and the Advisory Head, managing workload in alignment with proposal timelines and business pipeline demands.
- Engage with the broader electrical and power systems teams at WSP to obtain specialized technical knowledge, benchmarking data, and precedent information as needed.
- Assist in defining scope and estimating costs for electrical engineering components within advisory proposals, including studies related to energy transition and grid interconnections.
- Maintain and organize a repository of reusable electrical engineering materials such as case studies, credentials, and proposal-ready content, liaising with the Proposals Coordinator.
Qualifications and Experience
- Between five and eight years of professional experience in electrical engineering fields such as power systems, grid operations, building services, or renewable energy sectors.
- Valuable prior involvement in technical due diligence, feasibility analyses, or proposal and tender development is preferred.
- Strong ability to transform complex technical electrical engineering information into clear, succinct, and client-friendly documentation under tight deadlines.
- Possession of an accredited electrical engineering degree or a related qualification, with professional engineer registrations (such as PE or CEng) considered advantageous.
- Comfortable juggling multiple proposals simultaneously and working across diverse sectors rather than focusing on a solitary project.
- Background in power systems consulting, grid or utility engineering, renewable energy, data center power engineering, or experience within developer or operator technical teams with exposure to proposal/bid processes.
