The role is with The Virtual Superintendent, a New Zealand-origin tech company specializing in production management platforms utilized extensively across Australia's infrastructure megaprojects, including major projects like North East Link and Suburban Rail Loop. Role Summary

As a Construction Technology/Product Specialist, you will be a pivotal technical expert partnering with the sales team throughout the entire customer journey. Your responsibilities will include conducting targeted product demonstrations, overseeing onboarding, delivering ongoing support and training, and cultivating upsell and cross-selling within existing accounts. This role demands building strong relationships with end users ranging from engineers to commercial teams and foremen, enabling them to realize the full value of the platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and lead tailored product demonstrations addressing specific user roles and challenges, including engineers, foremen, commercial teams, and project managers.
  • Communicate the platform's features—such as geospatial, satellite data, machine telemetry, and cost and production tracking—in a manner that clearly connects to user needs and project pain points.
  • Provide pre-sales technical expertise alongside sales representatives, acting as the key technical voice during prospect engagements.
  • Collaborate in post-sale activities, assisting with implementation and onboarding together with the Onboarding Manager to swiftly deliver value to new users.
  • Offer continuous support and training to maintain high user engagement and satisfaction.
  • Identify and pursue upselling and cross-selling opportunities based on deeper insights gained from on-site relationships.
  • Work cohesively within a small account team, contributing to the development of the technical sales and support playbook for an emerging market segment without established procedures.
  • Travel locally within Melbourne on a weekly basis to meet clients and participate in team activities approximately biweekly.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

  • Demonstrated familiarity with construction and civil engineering concepts, enabling credible communication with site-based technical teams.
  • Experience in solutions engineering, sales engineering, or technical pre-sales roles, preferably within SaaS or advanced technology sectors.
  • Ability to manage the full account lifecycle confidently, from pre-sales demo presentations through to post-implementation support.
  • Proven capability to thrive independently and navigate ambiguity in a dynamic, high-growth environment, balanced with the stability afforded by a global parent company.
  • Strong collaborative spirit and enthusiasm for co-developing processes and playbooks in a developing team structure.
  • Must possess Australian residency or a valid Australian work visa and currently reside in Australia.
