Job description
Position Overview
We are searching for a Construction Cost Estimator specialized in building construction (Hochbau) to join a robust, owner-operated construction firm with several German locations. The position is for the site in the Elbe-Elster district of Brandenburg and offers a chance to actively contribute to construction projects beyond mere number verification, providing high responsibility and long-term career development.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently preparing cost proposals, orders, and additional cost calculations for building projects
- Assessing tender documents and supporting project planning efforts
- Obtaining, reviewing, and evaluating bids from subcontractors and suppliers
- Conducting quantity surveys across various trades
- Drafting performance specifications based on functional descriptions
- Developing technical and economic alternative and supplementary offers
- Assisting with project presentations for both internal and external stakeholders
- Participating in contract award and negotiation processes
- Maintaining and advancing cost calculation data within the RIB iTWO system
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Completed studies in civil engineering, architecture, construction management, or comparable qualifications (e.g., technician, master craftsman, special economist)
- Several years’ experience in building construction cost estimation, preferably around 3 years
- Proficiency in German language, minimum B2 level, ideally C1
- Confident user of RIB iTWO software
- Familiarity with MS Office, AutoCAD, HOAI, and VOB is beneficial
- Structured, independent, and responsible work approach
- Strong cost awareness coupled with precision and reliability
