Computer Software Engineer - Fresh Graduate

Overview

We are looking for fresh graduates to join our Database & Storage Infrastructure team based in Singapore as Computer Software Engineers. This role involves training and mentoring to research, design, and develop software for large-scale distributed database and storage platforms. The position offers growth into a core engineering role supporting critical systems servicing multiple regional markets.

Job Responsibilities

• Learn to research, design, and develop software and utility tools to manage large distributed database and storage platforms, with guidance from the team.
• Assist in analyzing user and system requirements and contribute to software solutions applying fundamentals of computer science and engineering.
• Support updating and improving existing software capabilities and participate in testing and validation of database and storage services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate database systems and gradually contribute to defining system specifications and performance criteria.
• Under mentorship, develop tooling and automation for monitoring, capacity planning, backup, and incident management.
• After onboarding and training, participate progressively in on-call rotations and production incident handling.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher (expected graduation in 2026 or 2027) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Programming & Systems Analysis, Computer Studies, or Software Engineering.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, computer networks (such as TCP/IP), databases, and computer architecture.
• Basic knowledge of database and distributed system principles including indexing, transactions, ACID properties, MVCC, Raft consensus algorithm, sharding, CAP theorem, and high availability.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Golang, Java, Python, or Rust.
• Fluency in both Mandarin and English to facilitate coordination and communication with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders, teams, and partners across regional areas.
• Demonstrated strong learning aptitude, ownership mindset, and readiness to engage with production infrastructure systems.
