Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled Computer Hardware Engineer to manage installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of computer hardware, servers, networking gadgets, and IT infrastructure components. The position involves hands-on technical assistance, preventive upkeep, and prompt resolution of hardware issues.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Install, set up, and maintain desktops, laptops, servers, workstations, and related peripheral devices.
- Identify and resolve hardware, software, and networking problems effectively.
- Carry out both preventative and corrective maintenance routines for IT equipment and computer systems.
- Install and configure operating systems, drivers, and software applications.
- Support local and wide area networks including switches, routers, and wireless technologies.
- Deliver technical support onsite and remotely to customers.
- Work alongside vendors and original equipment manufacturers for warranty support and technical assistance.
- Keep detailed service reports, maintenance logs, and documentation of technical issues.
- Monitor hardware performance and suggest upgrade solutions when necessary.
- Ensure all service calls and customer complaints are resolved promptly.
- Participate in deployment and integration projects relating to IT infrastructure.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for hardware and replacement parts.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, IT, Electronics, or a closely related discipline.
- One to five years experience in computer hardware and technical support roles preferred.
- Fresh graduates with impressive technical knowledge are also encouraged to apply.
Skills and Competencies
- Comprehensive knowledge of computer hardware, servers, storage solutions, and accessories.
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems and fundamental networking principles.
- Strong skills in troubleshooting and resolving technical problems.
- Experience with maintenance of desktops, laptops, and servers.
- Effective communication skills and a customer-oriented approach.
- Capacity to work autonomously and willingness to travel for client support as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience handling industrial computers, networking devices, and IT infrastructure projects.
- Understanding of RAID configurations, basic electronics, and backup data systems.
