About DSO National Laboratories and the Role
DSO National Laboratories is Singapore's premier defence research and development organization, committed to advancing technologies that enhance national security across various domains including air, land, sea, space, and cyberspace. The Human Systems Division focuses on capabilities in Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) defence, human factors engineering, and behavioural science to safeguard and enhance the effectiveness of the Singapore Armed Forces.

As a Computational Chemist, you will engage in research and development to leverage computational chemistry techniques to accelerate and refine solutions in CBRN defence.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct computational chemistry research aimed at supporting and expediting CBRN defence technology development.
- Perform computational assessments of chemical properties, reactions, and protein-ligand interactions.
- Explore and apply innovative methods including machine learning and quantum computing to improve computational chemistry calculations.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess a Degree, Masters, or PhD in Chemistry or Chemistry & Biological Chemistry.
- Basic proficiency in programming languages such as Python.
- Experience or familiarity with machine learning techniques.
- Solid foundational knowledge in chemistry.
- Having a double major in computer science or data analytics is highly beneficial.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
