Commissioning Lead (Offshore Electrical)

Assignment Details

• Location: Offshore Qatar
• Work pattern: 12-hour shifts every day, 7 days a week
• Rotation cycle: 28 days on followed by 28 days off, compensation is provided only for days worked
• Project tenure: 36 months

Core Responsibilities

• Observe and validate contractors' scope of work along with test and check documentation ensuring alignment with project requirements
• Supervise construction progress and activities during both Pre-shutdown and shutdown phases of existing Brownfield assets
• Manage offshore Brownfield Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning operations ensuring safety compliance and procedural adherence
• Lead the creation, classification, and resolution follow-up of punch lists through weekly contractor meetings
• Confirm that EPC contractor's completion dossiers for mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and commissioning are complete prior to asset handover
• Supervise and verify EPC contractor’s preservation measures comply fully with project criteria
• Coordinate the documentation and dissemination of lessons learned from subcontractors to be recorded in the project lessons learned system
• Track and ensure timely completion and handover of subsystem components through the completion management system
• Oversee all documentation related to mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Applied Sciences or Engineering
• A minimum of 8 years’ experience in large-scale commissioning projects within the Oil & Gas sector, including at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory position overseeing personnel or contractors
• Thorough knowledge of Completion certificate types and punch list classification procedures
• Experience operating Completion Management System databases such as PIMS, WinPCS, ICAPS, Hexagon, or similar platforms
• Understanding of construction, QA/QC, and operations interrelations
• Hands-on pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up expertise obtained through significant roles in major Oil & Gas projects
