Commis III - Banquet Kitchen

Job Overview

This role involves preparing culinary ingredients such as portioning, chopping, peeling fresh fruits and vegetables, and storing food items appropriately. The Commis III will follow recipes and quality standards to prepare and cook various dishes, including cold foods, and operate kitchen appliances like ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers. They will assess food readiness by testing and ensure food quality throughout the preparation process. The responsibilities also include setting up and dismantling work stations, serving food in correct portions, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen area and on equipment.

Completion of safety training and certifications is required. Employees must maintain a clean, professional appearance and uphold confidentiality, protecting company assets at all times. Physical Demands & Additional Duties

The position requires prolonged periods of standing, sitting, or walking throughout shifts. Physical activities include reaching above head and below knees, bending, twisting, pulling, stooping, and handling items weighing up to 25 pounds without help. Other related duties as assigned by supervisors must be performed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum education: high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
• At least one year of relevant work experience
• No supervisory responsibilities required
• No specific licenses or certifications necessary
