Role Responsibilities
- Coordinate mise-en-place activities and service within the assigned kitchen section alongside the Chef de Partie
- Receive and correctly execute orders as instructed by the Chef de Partie
- Complete daily checklists for mise-en-place and food storage management
- Assist in preparing daily requisitions for wine, dry stores, food supplies, and kitchen transfers for approval by Executive or Sous Chef to ensure optimal stock turnover
- Foster positive working relationships and motivate fellow colleagues
- Follow recipe guidelines precisely in portions, quantities, and quality standards as specified by the Chef de Partie
- Participate in daily meetings with the Chef de Cuisine and other appointed sessions with Executive or Sous Chef
- Monitor updates on the information board concerning event changes or organizational notices
- Report any malfunctioning kitchen equipment to the Chef de Cuisine and ensure follow-up repairs
- Communicate shift-related information, including function details, to the following team
- Maintain hygiene practices and HACCP documentation in compliance with regulations
- Undertake additional tasks as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements
- Completion of kitchen apprenticeship or equivalent chef training for a minimum of one year
- A minimum of 1 to 2 years experience in a five-star international hotel environment
- Ability to read and interpret recipes with solid cooking knowledge
- Effective communication skills
