Commis 2 - Pastry Production

Position Overview

This role involves assisting in the preparation of ingredients and cooking tasks within pastry production, ensuring adherence to quality and presentation standards while maintaining safety and cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities

• Portion, chop, and store food ingredients.
• Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh, measure, and blend ingredients according to recipes and quality criteria.
• Cook and prepare food items, including cold foods, using kitchen appliances such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
• Test food to confirm adequate cooking.
• Monitor food quality during preparation.
• Set up and dismantle workstations efficiently.
• Serve food in designated portions and appropriate containers.
• Clean and disinfect kitchen surfaces, tools, knives, and equipment.
• Verify the correct temperature settings of appliances and the cooked food.
• Comply with company safety and security policies; report any hazards, incidents, or maintenance requirements promptly.
• Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Use clear and professional communication; build positive team relationships and support collective goals.
• Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods; perform physical actions such as bending, twisting, lifting items up to 25 pounds independently.
• Undertake other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• A minimum of one year of relevant experience in a related food preparation role.
• No required supervisory experience or certifications.
