Job Overview

The role of Commis 2 at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company involves preparing ingredients and cooking food with adherence to recipes, quality, and presentation standards within a luxury hospitality environment located in Saudi Arabia on Ummahat Islands in the Red Sea.

Primary Duties

• Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, weighing, measuring, and mixing.
• Cook food items including cold dishes with equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
• Test food doneness and monitor quality during preparation.
• Set up and dismantle the work station, serving food in accurate portions and maintaining kitchen cleanliness.
• Wash and sanitize kitchen areas, tools, knives, and equipment, while ensuring appliance and food temperature correctness.
• Perform duties involving physical activity such as standing, walking, bending, lifting items up to 25 pounds without assistance.
• Follow all company policies, including safety and security protocols, reporting hazards and completing safety certifications.
• Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality, communicate clearly, and foster positive teamwork to achieve shared goals.
• Undertake additional reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
• Minimum of one year of relevant work experience in food preparation or culinary roles.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific licenses or certifications mandated.
