Position Overview

The Commis 2 role involves preparing cooking ingredients by portioning, chopping, and storing, as well as washing and peeling fresh produce. Cooking duties include measuring, mixing, and following recipes while maintaining quality and presentation standards. The role also requires operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers, and testing food for proper cooking completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Measure and mix ingredients accurately, prepare cold foods, and serve food in correct portions and appropriate containers.
• Set up and dismantle the workstation while ensuring cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, tools, and equipment.
• Maintain appliance and food temperatures within required standards.
• Comply with company safety and security policies, reporting maintenance issues, incidents, or hazards promptly.
• Keep a professional appearance, maintain confidentiality, and communicate clearly within the team.
• Contribute to a positive work environment by supporting colleagues and responding appropriately to concerns.
• Meet quality expectations throughout food preparation.
• Perform physical tasks such as standing, sitting, walking for extended periods, as well as bending, lifting (up to 25 pounds), pulling, and stooping.
• Other duties assigned by supervisors as needed.

Qualifications

• At least a high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
• A minimum of one year of related work experience in food preparation or culinary roles.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific licenses or certifications are necessary.
