Job Overview

The Commis 2 at Marriott International in Doha is responsible for the preparation of food ingredients and cooking according to established recipes and quality standards. This includes tasks such as portioning, chopping, storing, washing and peeling fresh produce. Candidates are expected to prepare and cook food items maintaining presentation quality and adhere to food safety and cleanliness protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, chopping, and storing for cooking purposes.
• Wash and peel fruits and vegetables to ensure freshness for cooking.
• Execute cooking tasks on various equipment including ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
• Test food items for proper cooking and monitor food quality throughout preparation.
• Set up and clean workstations, ensuring hygiene of kitchen areas, tools, and equipment.
• Serve food in proper portions and appropriate receptacles.
• Confirm correct temperatures of food and appliances.
• Maintain compliance with company safety and security policies, report any hazards or equipment issues promptly.
• Keep a professional appearance and protect company confidentiality and assets.
• Foster positive working relationships and contribute to team goals.
• Perform physically demanding tasks such as standing, bending, lifting objects up to 25 pounds, and other job requirements.
• Carry out additional duties as requested by supervisors.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least one year of relevant culinary or food preparation experience required.
• No supervisory experience is necessary.
• No licenses or certifications are specified.
