Role Overview

In this hands-on commercial finance position within the Finance department, you will collaborate closely with senior Supply Chain leaders, supporting areas such as Warehousing, Distribution, Delivery, Logistics, and EQS throughout New Zealand's Supply Chain network. With transactional reporting managed offshore in Manila, your main responsibility will be to analyze, interpret, and provide actionable insights from financial outputs to drive informed commercial decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders across Warehousing, Distribution, Delivery, Logistics, and EQS to facilitate commercial decision-making processes.
• Lead month-end closing, budgeting, and forecasting activities related to the Supply Chain function.
• Critically review and validate reporting generated by the Manila team, ensuring accuracy, commercial relevance, and clarity.
• Develop detailed financial models, scenario analyses, and business cases to support operational initiatives.
• Identify and drive cost reduction, productivity improvements, and continuous enhancements within the Supply Chain.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), detect emerging trends, and proactively highlight potential risks and opportunities.
• Engage constructively with operational teams to encourage sound commercial decision-making.
• Provide on-demand analytical support to senior Supply Chain stakeholders as required.

Required Skills and Experience

• At least three years of experience within a supply chain environment; exposure to FMCG sectors is beneficial though not mandatory.
• Advanced skills in Excel and financial modelling; familiarity with SAP, Power BI, or large-scale ERP systems is advantageous.
• A strong commercial mindset capable of moving beyond basic transactional reporting to deliver insights and decision support.
• Capability and confidence to challenge stakeholder viewpoints and assumptions effectively.
• Experience engaging with senior, detail-conscious stakeholders in a dynamic operational setting.
• A tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, or Commerce; a Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification or equivalent is desirable.
• Experience collaborating with offshore or shared services teams is preferable.
