Role Overview

The Commercial Finance Analyst acts as a senior finance business partner, delivering strategic financial leadership, commercial insight, and challenge which influence investment decisions, promote profitability, and support Three's commercial goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as lead finance advisor to Commercial leadership, offering strategic financial guidance, constructive challenge, and insightful analysis to shape business strategies and investment choices.
• Develop trusted partnerships with senior leaders across Sales, Marketing, Retail, and Finance to sway decision-making with commercial acumen and data-backed recommendations.
• Manage financial evaluation of strategic projects, pricing models, commercial investments, and business cases ensuring long-term value maximization.
• Provide unbiased financial challenge by identifying risks, opportunities, and suggesting ways to improve performance.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning for designated commercial portfolios, aligning financial plans to strategic priorities.
• Build complex financial models, apply scenario analyses, and forecasting techniques to support strategy and investment deliberations.
• Deliver detailed financial performance analysis and insightful reporting pinpointing trends and suggesting actions to drive commercial results.
• Simplify complex financial data into clear, business-relevant insights for senior management.
• Oversee financial governance within assigned commercial areas ensuring strong control, compliance, and accurate corporate reporting.
• Lead monthly financial reviews, executive reports, and submissions to Group, ensuring transparent understanding and rigorous challenge of financial outcomes.
• Identify and drive enhancements in financial processes, reporting frameworks, and planning capacities to improve decision-making and efficiency.
• Promote best practices throughout commercial finance operations, fostering consistency, governance standards, and continuous advancement.

Candidate Profile and Required Skills

• Part qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA or CIMA credentials.
• Extensive background in commercial finance, business partnering, or financial planning roles.
• Proficient in advanced financial modelling, forecasting, and analytics.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft Excel along with experience using Oracle, Hyperion, or comparable planning software.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders with commercial insights, financial knowledge, and constructive challenges.
• Strategic thinker capable of balancing commercial opportunities, financial risks, and operational demands.
• Excellent communicator with the skill to present complex finance data as actionable business advice.
• Experience in leading cross-departmental projects that drive commercial success.
• Highly self-motivated, resilient, and comfortable working independently in a fast-changing environment.
