Role Overview

As a Commercial Analyst, you will collaborate closely with Buying Leads to deliver financial analysis, interpret data, build models, and produce reports supporting a key strategic initiative within Gilmours. You will engage deeply with category management activities, providing essential analysis of current purchasing trends by category and supplier to assist the buying team.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver insights from the Customer-Driven project focusing on range optimization, pricing strategies, and data hygiene to improve decision-making.
• Assist Buying Leads by providing analytic support for negotiation tactics and goal setting.
• Measure and communicate the effects of changes on Members and Leadership through detailed reporting.
• Develop and enhance reporting tools using business intelligence (BI) solutions to enable more precise and actionable insights.
• Monitor project progress against milestones and ensure alignment with the organisation’s objectives.
• Contribute to project management development by supporting implementation activities related to this strategic initiative.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is commercially astute and possesses several years of experience in analytical roles, particularly within FMCG, retail, or wholesale environments. You must have strong proficiency with SAP and Cognos systems, along with an excellent command of data processes and system integrations. Advanced skills in Excel and a passion for working with complex numerical data to extract valuable business insights are essential.

A curious and proactive mindset is highly valued, with a readiness to question established practices and push for continuous improvement. We seek a Commercial Analyst who is naturally inquisitive and eager to delve deeply into data analysis and interpretation.
