About the Role
We are partnering with a reputable insurance broker with a strong foothold in the Midlands region, seeking an experienced Commercial Account Handler. This permanent, full-time opportunity offers hybrid working arrangements with three days onsite and two days remote work each week. The position comes with a competitive salary ranging from 45,000 to 55,000 annually, depending on experience, along with benefits and bonuses.
Based near Mullingar, with easy access from Athlone and Longford, you will take ownership of a well-established client portfolio, managing renewals, fostering client relationships, and driving new business opportunities within a close-knit, supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and strengthen existing client relationships, ensuring their requirements are consistently met to build loyalty.
- Manage the renewal process for commercial insurance policies, including assessment of terms, negotiation, and ensuring renewals are completed punctually.
- Assess clients' risk profiles to recommend appropriate insurance products and coverage.
- Deliver excellent customer service by promptly addressing inquiries and resolving client concerns.
- Identify and pursue new business prospects to grow the client base.
- Achieve targets for new business and policy renewals.
- Stay informed on current market practices and product offerings; provide feedback related to pricing, service levels, and product development.
- Conduct client visits as required to maintain strong engagement.
- Ensure adherence to all compliance standards and internal procedures.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of three years' experience in commercial insurance roles; agricultural insurance experience is a plus.
- Hold minimum APA Commercial or Grandfathered Commercial status, with evidence of up-to-date Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of the commercial insurance market and related products.
- Demonstrated history managing client portfolios, especially handling policy renewals and client queries.
- Excellent negotiation skills capable of achieving beneficial outcomes for both clients and business.
- Proven ability to develop and sustain lasting client relationships to enhance satisfaction and retention.
- Possession of a full, clean driving license.
