About the Role
We seek a Collections Officer with multiple years of direct experience managing overdue accounts. This position requires active engagement in debt recovery, including making outbound calls, negotiating payments, and pursuing accounts until resolution. Candidates must demonstrate persistence and firmness in dealings, balanced with professionalism and strong English communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of delinquent or overdue accounts.
- Conduct outbound calls and send follow-up emails regarding outstanding payments.
- Address customer objections and delays with professionalism.
- Negotiate payment plans and consistently track commitments.
- Maintain detailed, accurate records of interactions and next steps.
- Work toward and achieve daily and weekly collection targets and KPIs.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Several years of focused collections experience, directly managing overdue accounts and payment negotiations.
- Preferred experience with U.S. clients or accounts.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Comfort with handling high volumes of outbound calls.
- Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and directly.
- Professional, firm, persistent, and accountable approach.
- Experience working with and meeting performance metrics and targets.
Not Suitable If
- Your background centers on accounts receivable, billing, credit analysis/control, or accounting with minimal active collections responsibilities.
- Your collections work involved mainly clerical or data-entry tasks rather than direct negotiations and account management.
Compensation and Benefits
- Gross salary of CAD 4000 per month, based on relevant experience and collections skills.
