Job description
Role Overview
The Coffee Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and onboarding coffee farmers to establish a reliable supplier network. This role involves crafting procurement strategies that support organizational goals and managing supplier relationships to secure optimal pricing, payment terms, and delivery arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage and onboard coffee farmers, expanding the company's supplier base effectively.
- Formulate and execute procurement plans aligned with company mission and objectives.
- Manage supplier selection, evaluation, and negotiate terms that favor company interests.
- Oversee order processing and delivery schedules ensuring materials for production, processing, and packaging are acquired promptly.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high-quality standards and regularly review supplier performance.
- Monitor market trends influencing logistics and coffee input supplies to stay ahead in sourcing strategies.
Requirements
- Possess 2 to 3 years experience in coffee procurement-related roles.
- Be based in or operate within the Lukaya or Miwula regions.
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Procurement & Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline; practical coffee procurement experience may substitute formal education.
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of coffee quality benchmarks and proficient negotiation skills based on quality evaluation.
- Exhibit strong competencies in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiation, inventory management, vendor relations, and leadership.
- Maintain exceptional communication skills along with high ethical standards and professional integrity.
