Role Overview

As a Starbucks Barista at our on-site cafés, you will engage with customers and provide tailored service while developing expertise in coffee and tea within a lively, dynamic, and friendly workplace environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Comply with company policies, standards, and procedures in all scenarios.
• Welcome customers courteously and professionally.
• Deliver exceptional customer service aligned with Safeway’s programs.
• Handle payment transactions via cash, cheque, credit card, gift card, and debit.
• Prepare both hot and cold beverages, including specialty drinks.
• Manage product stocking and ordering duties.
• Perform assigned light cleaning tasks to maintain café standards.

Required Qualifications and Attributes

• Quick learner capable of adapting to new tasks effectively.
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving, high-volume environment.
• Highly motivated team player with strong interpersonal skills.
• Effective communicator with clear and concise oral and written skills.
• Exemplary customer service orientation.
• Committed to working safely and responsibly.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and notably Sundays for Alberta locations.
• Physical capability to occasionally lift items up to 45 pounds, constant hand coordination, gripping, frequent use of point of sale systems, standing, bending, and occasional walking or squatting.
• No prior experience necessary.
