CNC Operator

Overview

This role involves operating CNC machines for precision manufacturing of aerospace and defense components, ensuring adherence to quality standards, productivity goals, and workplace safety.

CNC Turning Operator Responsibilities

• Operate CNC Turning equipment to produce high-precision components.
• Interpret engineering blueprints accurately.
• Apply tool offset adjustments as needed.
• Use precision measurement tools like Vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and height gauges for in-process inspection.
• Uphold quality standards, productivity benchmarks, and maintain 5S workplace organization.
• Immediately report any machine malfunctions.

CNC Milling Operator Responsibilities

• Manage operations of 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC Milling machines.
• Handle the loading of fixtures, tools, and workpieces.
• Conduct tool changes and setting of offsets.
• Read and interpret process sheets and technical drawings.
• Perform in-process inspections for quality control.
• Keep machines clean and ensure safety compliance.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Educational background: ITI certification in Turner, Machinist, or Fitter disciplines, or a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience ranging from 1 to 5 years within aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing sectors.
• Proficiency with Fanuc or Siemens CNC control systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and understand machining tolerances.
• Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and cutting tools.
• Knowledge of multi-axis machining (3, 4 & 5 axis) and preferred understanding of GD&T.
