Job Overview
Join SSR General & Management Limited's precision manufacturing team as a CNC Mill Operator based in Livingston, Scotland. This position requires a dedicated machinist focused on precision and quality to operate and set up CNC milling machines, ensuring components adhere strictly to engineering standards.
Working Hours and Compensation
This role offers a 39.5-hour workweek: Monday to Thursday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Friday from 7:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Starting pay is £13.50 per hour with potential adjustments reflecting your experience and skills.
Primary Responsibilities
- Operate and set up CNC milling equipment to manufacture precision parts.
- Interpret engineering drawings and files to maintain tight tolerance standards.
- Conduct self-led quality control checks, including first-off, ongoing, and final inspections using measuring instruments such as verniers and micrometers.
- Monitor machinery performance, make necessary adjustments, and seek ways to increase operational efficiency and reduce waste.
- Apply manual lathe machining skills to support secondary operations and machine setups.
- Maintain detailed production and quality documentation.
- Uphold workplace cleanliness and adhere strictly to health and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Demonstrable experience operating CNC milling machines.
- Background in manual lathe machine work is highly desirable.
- Keen attention to detail ensuring consistent production quality and tolerance.
- Proficiency using precision measurement tools including micrometers and calipers.
- Competence in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings.
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to precision sheet metal fabrication or general engineering manufacturing environments.
