Job description
About the Role
A leading company in the automotive sector specializing in metal stampings and assemblies has an available position for a CNC Programmer/Machinist. The company offers comprehensive tooling solutions for progressive and tandem dies focusing on deep draw, aluminum, ultra high strength steel (UHSS), and complex stamping dies.
Responsibilities
- Develop and operate CNC machines to cut die blocks and sections.
- Perform machining on boiler plate and tool steel materials.
- Carry out 2D and 3D machining and programming tasks.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshoot CNC machines and software.
- Collaborate with the CNC coordinator and engineering teams on various projects.
Requirements
- Certification as a General Machinist (Red Seal), Mechanical Technician/CNC, or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in a machining environment; experience in the Tool & Die industry is considered a plus.
- Basic proficiency with Lemoine programming software.
- Familiarity with Heidenhain and Fanuc controllers.
- Experience in 5-axis machining and/or Work NC software is advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative team approach.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Good organizational capabilities.
