Position Overview
We seek an experienced CNC Machine Operator specializing in the 5-Axis SCM M100 to lead the machine operations at our Chesterfield plant. This crucial role involves programming, operating, and maintaining our CNC machinery and providing operational support for Beamsaw and Edgebander equipment within the production line.
Core Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and maintain the SCM M100 5-axis CNC machining center to accurately manufacture fire door components following specifications.
- Manage machine upkeep, ensuring operational efficiency and adhering to safety protocols.
- Support production by operating additional machinery such as Beamsaw and Edgebander.
- Interpret technical blueprints, CNC programmes, and production plans to meet daily manufacturing goals.
- Inspect machined parts for quality assurance, promptly detecting and reporting discrepancies or defects.
- Conduct routine equipment maintenance, including tooling replacements and initial fault diagnostics.
- Maintain a tidy, safe, and well-organized workspace consistent with company health and safety standards.
- Collaborate proactively with production personnel to facilitate a seamless manufacturing process.
- Contribute ideas for process improvements to enhance machine performance and product quality.
Required Skills and Expertise
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence with a proactive, responsible approach to work.
- Proven hands-on experience operating CNC machinery, specifically the SCM M100 5-axis machine.
- Competency in CNC programming and the ability to modify existing programs.
- Familiarity with Beamsaw and Edgebander equipment is beneficial.
- Ability to carefully interpret and work from technical drawings and production schedules.
- Exceptional meticulousness and a consistent focus on quality control.
- Understanding of factory health and safety guidelines.
- Positive, team-oriented mindset and eagerness to contribute.
- Preferred background in joinery, timber processing, panel products, or fire door manufacturing.
