Cloud Solution Architect - Critical Infrastructure Sector

About the Role

We are seeking a Cloud Solution Architect to join a global leader in the critical infrastructure sector, operating within its global IT Infrastructure & Operations division. Reporting directly to the Global Head of IT Infrastructure & Operations, you will be responsible for both architecting and delivering enterprise-grade Microsoft Azure and M365 solutions. Your role will ensure that the platforms remain secure, scalable, resilient, and fully compliant with the Azure Well-Architected Framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, architecture, and deployment of enterprise cloud solutions spanning Azure and M365 platforms.
• Oversee cloud infrastructure components including networking, identity management, security, hybrid and SaaS integrations, Landing Zones, and DevOps practices.
• Serve as the authoritative figure for cloud design, translating complex business needs into effective technical solutions.
• Enhance Zero Trust security models and implement robust cloud security protocols.
• Champion automation, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and AI-driven functionalities.
• Maintain hands-on involvement in implementation, troubleshooting, and operational support tasks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional business units, external vendors, and technology partners to ensure cohesive cloud strategy execution.

Qualifications and Experience

• More than 10 years of experience in infrastructure, cloud services, or platform engineering.
• At least 4 years of direct, hands-on experience in Azure and M365 architecture, design, and deployment.
• Expertise with Azure services including Landing Zones, Hub & Spoke networking, compute, storage, PaaS offerings, and multi-tenant infrastructures.
• Solid knowledge of networking concepts such as virtual networks (VNets), peering, routing, private endpoints, Web Application Firewall (WAF), firewalls, and network segmentation.
• Proficient in identity and security technologies: Entra ID, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), Conditional Access policies, Zero Trust frameworks, Microsoft Defender, and Purview.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 products like Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and managing hybrid Active Directory/Entra environments.
• Strong command of automation and DevOps tools including PowerShell scripting, Microsoft Graph API, Azure DevOps or GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies.
• Comprehensive understanding of cloud security best practices, disaster recovery (DR) strategies, system monitoring, and cost optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with AI or Copilot integrations, and exposure to frameworks and security tools such as NIST, MITRE ATT&CK, CIS benchmarks, Zscaler, CrowdStrike, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is a plus.
• Relevant Microsoft certifications enhancing candidacy: AZ-305, AZ-700, SC-100, SC-300, and MS-102.
