Job description
Overview
Coforge is seeking an experienced Cloud Native Application Engineer with 6 to 10 years of experience specializing in cloud-native app development, container orchestration, Kubernetes, Azure cloud services, CI/CD automation, and API-driven architectures. This full-time position is based in Coimbatore or Bangalore, operating in a hybrid work mode. Immediate availability to join is required.
Primary Responsibilities
- Define and manage the design and governance of cloud-native architectures focused on scalable, secure, and highly available distributed microservices aligned with business and technology goals.
- Design and implement enterprise-grade Identity and Access Management solutions including RBAC, OAuth2, OpenID Connect, token lifecycle management, and integration with Microsoft Entra ID.
- Deploy, operate, and optimize Kubernetes platforms on Azure (AKS), incorporating service meshes, network policies, autoscaling, resilience, and platform security.
- Architect event-driven and distributed systems leveraging Kafka to ensure reliable asynchronous messaging, data consistency, fault tolerance, and high throughput.
- Establish enterprise Azure standards concerning networking, security, governance, cost management, and cloud resource administration in production environments.
- Define strategies for distributed data models including database design, transactional handling, and consistency across microservices ecosystems.
- Lead observability and reliability efforts implementing monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting frameworks utilizing Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stacks.
- Champion GitOps and Infrastructure-as-Code practices using Terraform, Flux, and automated CI/CD pipelines with deployment strategies like Canary, Blue-Green, and rollback mechanisms.
- Conduct architectural reviews, provide technical governance, and mentor teams on cloud-native design, security best practices, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, DevOps, security, and platform teams to convert business requirements into resilient, scalable cloud solutions.
Required Expertise
- In-depth skills in designing and managing distributed microservice architectures with strong focus on scalability, resilience, and high availability.
- Extensive knowledge of Enterprise IAM frameworks including RBAC, OAuth2, OIDC, token lifecycle, federated identity, and Microsoft Entra ID integration.
- Comprehensive expertise in Kubernetes production environments (AKS), including cluster operations, service meshes, network security, and autoscaling.
- Strong understanding of distributed data system design, transaction management, consistency protocols, caching, and fault-tolerance.
- Proven experience architecting Kafka-based event-driven asynchronous communication with secure service interactions and broker tuning.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Azure cloud architecture, encompassing networking, security, governance, AKS infrastructure, and cost optimization.
- Experience with observability tools such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK for monitoring, logging, and tracing.
- Solid experience using GitOps methodologies, Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform, and CI/CD automation, including advanced deployment strategies.
- Expertise in cloud security principles including Zero Trust, encryption, secrets management, and compliance considerations.
- Demonstrated ability in technical leadership, architecture reviews, standards enforcement, and team mentoring on cloud natives best practices.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with multi-region Azure deployments and disaster recovery planning.
- Familiarity with API gateways, service meshes, and sophisticated traffic management techniques.
- Knowledge of cloud cost governance and optimization frameworks within Azure environments.
- Relevant Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or Terraform Associate.
