Your Role

As a Cloud Engineer specializing in software development, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure for complex software projects. You will collaborate with software architects, developers, and operations teams to define cloud architectures tailored to applications, implement infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, and integrate CI/CD pipelines to maximize automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing and developing appropriate cloud architectures in partnership with software architects and development and operations teams.
  • Provisioning cloud infrastructure by utilizing Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
  • Implementing high levels of automation and integrating continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines within the cloud environment.
  • Setting up effective monitoring and logging systems to ensure scalability, performance, and reliability of development environments.
  • Maintaining and continuously improving cloud infrastructure with a focus on reliability and ongoing enhancement.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree in a STEM field or equivalent education with at least 2 years of professional experience in software development projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of software development in cloud contexts and hands-on experience with cloud technologies.
  • Proficiency in at least one popular programming language such as Python, Java, or C#, along with scripting automation skills using tools like PowerShell or Bash.
  • Preferred certifications on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, or experience working with OpenStack.
  • Fluent written and spoken German and English; no travel required.
