Cloud Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a Cloud Engineer with between 2 and 5 years of experience to architect, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructures that underpin Creuto's product offerings and engineering teams. This role demands collaboration with engineering and DevOps groups to ensure secure, scalable, cost-effective, and reliable cloud operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and provision cloud infrastructure utilizing AWS or Google Cloud Platform, employing infrastructure-as-code methodologies with tools like Terraform or AWS CDK.
• Oversee configuration of networking components including VPCs, security groups, load balancers, and DNS setups across different environments.
• Implement and manage cloud security mechanisms such as IAM policies, secrets management solutions, and compliance guardrails.
• Optimize cloud expenditure via right-sizing resources, leveraging reserved instances, and enhancing architectural efficiencies.
• Establish and maintain monitoring systems, alerting mechanisms, and cost dashboards tailored for engineering and finance stakeholders.
• Assist engineering teams by conducting cloud architecture assessments and sharing best practices.
• Administer managed database services such as RDS and Cloud SQL.
• Address cloud infrastructure incidents promptly and execute thorough post-incident evaluations.

Candidate Profile

• Possesses 2 to 5 years of practical cloud engineering experience with hands-on stewardship of AWS or GCP environments.
• Proficient in Terraform or comparable infrastructure-as-code tools, adopting a code-first mindset.
• Demonstrates solid expertise in cloud networking, security protocols, and cost management strategies.
• Effectively communicates tradeoffs related to cloud architecture to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
• Holds AWS or GCP certifications or showcases equivalent proven proficiency.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with multi-cloud strategies involving both AWS and GCP platforms.
• Knowledge of Financial Operations (FinOps) and techniques for optimizing cloud spending at scale.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and container orchestration within cloud ecosystems.
• Experience in provisioning cloud infrastructure for machine learning or AI workloads.
