Cloud DevOps Engineer - Oracle EBS on Google Cloud Platform

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Cloud DevOps Engineer with specialization in Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to lead our DevOps transformation initiatives. This role demands expertise in designing and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure provisioning, and monitoring strategies to ensure high availability, stability, and performance of enterprise applications deployed on GCP.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and sustain scalable CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Cloud Build, Jenkins, or GitLab CI/CD to automate building, testing, and deployment of Oracle EBS applications and associated cloud infrastructure.
• Integrate automated quality gates in pipelines covering unit, integration, performance, and security testing phases.
• Create and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) resources using Terraform or Cloud Deployment Manager for consistent provisioning of GCP services.
• Implement configuration management practices via tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef to automate setup and maintenance of Oracle EBS servers and databases on GCP.
• Develop automation scripts primarily in Python, Bash, or Go to streamline DevOps operations including environment provisioning, deployment workflows, data refresh processes, and incident handling.
• Design and deploy comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks using GCP’s Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, and Security Command Center to ensure system health visibility and proactive issue remediation.
• Formulate and enforce release management strategies for Oracle EBS ensuring timely and controlled rollout across multiple cloud environments including Dev, Test, UAT, and Production.
• Partner with architects, cloud engineers, DBAs, developers, and QA teams to foster DevOps best practices like continuous integration/delivery, automated testing, and continuous improvement culture.
• Mentor team members and provide expert guidance on DevOps methodologies and cloud-native tooling.
• Drive performance tuning and cost optimization of Oracle EBS applications and underlying GCP services, implementing autoscaling and efficient resource management strategies.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of IT experience, including at least 4 years dedicated to DevOps roles within cloud environments.
• In-depth practical knowledge of Google Cloud Platform services and DevOps toolchains.
• Proven track record in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and Go.
• Experience working with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Cloud Deployment Manager.
• Sound understanding of Oracle E-Business Suite architecture and deployment fundamentals.
• Familiarity with configuration management tools including Ansible, Puppet, or Chef is highly advantageous.
• Comprehensive grasp of cloud networking, compute, storage, and database services specific to GCP.
• Experience in monitoring, logging, and alerting best practices using GCP native tools.
• Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving capabilities, and debugging skills.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills suitable for collaborative environments.
• Relevant professional certifications such as GCP Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect are preferred.
• Experience with GCP Fast Fabric is a desirable plus.
