Job Responsibilities
- Ensure databases maintain high availability and reliability.
- Perform routine health checks, maintenance, and security self-assessments of databases.
- Create, configure, migrate databases, and apply patches and upgrades to keep systems current and supported.
- Plan database capacity to accommodate growth.
- Manage database assets and systems in compliance with internal security policies, including conducting account reviews.
- Document policies, architectural designs, and related database artifacts.
- Offer technical guidance and solutions tailored to user requirements for database-related projects.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience supporting Oracle Database environments across PROD, DR, DEV, QA, and UAT systems.
- Strong expertise in Oracle Database Administration covering versions 11g through 19C.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle RAC high availability clusters (2–4 nodes), Oracle GoldenGate, and Oracle Data Guard.
- Skilled in troubleshooting database integrity, performance, blocking, deadlocks, connectivity, and security issues.
- Good understanding of Windows and UNIX operating systems.
- Ability to generate reports using Oracle tools such as AWR, ASH, ADDM, along with manual scripting.
- Provide continuous monitoring, diagnose issues, and track real-time and historical Oracle performance.
- Extensive experience with RMAN, expdp/impdp utilities, backup, and recovery processes.
- Competent in installing and assessing new software releases, patches, upgrades, and cloning databases.
- Develop and implement database security policies and procedures.
- Daily monitoring of database system health and data integrity.
- Analyze performance data, identify bottlenecks, and implement performance improvements.
- Familiarity with other RDBMS, NoSQL databases, and cloud platforms is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills in English (oral and written) plus strong documentation skills for processes and procedures.
- Collaborate with users and vendors to resolve issues promptly and conduct root cause analysis.
