Role Overview

The Cloud Architect / Software Manager / DevOps Manager is charged with crafting, overseeing, and enhancing the technical landscape, including software platforms, cloud infrastructure, and development operations. This role merges technical leadership with expertise in architecture, software delivery, infrastructure management, automation, security, and operational effectiveness.

Key Duties

• Design scalable, dependable cloud infrastructure tailored to business applications, digital platforms, data environments, and IT services.
• Assess infrastructure needs and define optimized technical solutions emphasizing performance, availability, security, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate closely with software engineering, infrastructure, cybersecurity, product, data, and business teams to convert both technical and business requirements into actionable technology implementations.
• Manage software delivery workflows and development coordination, enhancing engineering processes and fostering adoption of robust development standards.
• Drive DevOps methodologies, advancing CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, deployment, configuration management, monitoring, and system dependability.
• Oversee cloud infrastructure across public, private, or hybrid environments; manage computing, storage, networking, databases, and containers with focus on performance optimization and cost management.
• Implement security and resilience measures including access controls, backup protocols, monitoring, disaster recovery, and risk management strategies.
• Lead technical projects, evaluate vendors and architecture proposals, prioritize initiatives, and coordinate with external partners while providing expert technical guidance for technology investments.
• Monitor operational metrics, systems health, and deployment results, orchestrating incident management, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Lead and mentor software, DevOps, cloud, or infrastructure teams, fostering collaboration and engineering excellence.

Qualifications and Expertise

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, Cloud Computing, or similar field, or equivalent experience.
• Proficient understanding of cloud architecture, software engineering, infrastructure, and DevOps principles.
• Experience with major cloud providers such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledgeable in cloud networking, compute, storage, databases, security, and scalable infrastructure design.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, automation, Infrastructure-as-Code, and deployment strategies.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or equivalent automation and orchestration tools.
• Comprehensive grasp of software development lifecycle and contemporary engineering best practices.
• Ability to architect scalable, secure, resilient, and cost-sensitive technological solutions.
• Understanding of microservices architectures, APIs, containers, distributed systems, and cloud-native application designs.
• Strong command of monitoring, logging, observability, system performance, and reliability engineering.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals including identity and access management, data protection, and infrastructure security.
• Problem-solving aptitude for complex technical challenges, delivering practical solutions.
• Project management skills, prioritization, and organizational capabilities.
• Excellent communication for articulating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborative mindset for working with cross-functional teams in engineering, security, data, product, and business areas.
• Experience overseeing technical teams, managing projects, vendors, or cross-group initiatives is advantageous.
• Familiarity with disaster recovery, business continuity, backup solutions, and high-availability approaches.
• Expertise in version control systems, configuration management, and automated deployment procedures.
• Capability to assess technology solutions, technical risks, and infrastructure expenditures.
• Leadership skills with a strategic, analytical, and proactive approach to technology management.
• Exposure to Agile, Scrum, or other modern software development methodologies is beneficial.
• Relevant Cloud and DevOps certifications are a plus but not mandatory.
