Role Overview
The Cloud API Engineer will work on Bitdeer's control plane, a system that transforms a GPU fleet into a scalable cloud product. This role involves designing and developing tenant management, quota, billing, ticketing, role-based access control (RBAC), customer portals, and APIs. The engineer will architect solutions for global and regional control-plane divisions, implement self-service onboarding automation, ensure accurate billing and metering, and create operational tools to enhance system reliability and stability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop control-plane components including tenant management, quota, billing, support ticketing, RBAC/permissions, and customer API portals.
- Design and implement the architecture for managing global and regional control planes, ensuring consistency across regions.
- Create automation for self-service onboarding to reduce manual processes and improve scalability.
- Assure accuracy and auditability of billing and metering systems.
- Develop operational tools to detect, isolate, and recover from issues, enhancing system stability.
- Collaborate with compute teams to build region-aware scheduling and resource placement.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in backend software engineering, specifically building backend services, control planes, or web platforms.
- Proficient in backend programming languages such as Go, Java, or Python, with strong API design and distributed systems understanding.
- Experience working with multi-tenant SaaS or cloud control plane architectures; familiarity with billing and quota management systems is advantageous.
- Frontend development skills using React or Vue are a plus for some full-stack responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of RBAC, authentication protocols like OAuth and OIDC, and audit mechanisms.
- Experience with multi-region or distributed-consistency systems valued highly.
