About Bitdeer
Bitdeer is a prominent global technology firm specializing in Bitcoin mining and AI cloud services. The company offers end-to-end Bitcoin mining solutions, including ASIC chip design, mining rig manufacturing, equipment procurement, logistics, datacenter design and construction, equipment management, and network and facility operations. Bitdeer also develops advanced cloud computing capabilities tailored for AI workloads. With headquarters in Singapore, Bitdeer manages a diversified 3 GW energy portfolio and operates Bitcoin mining and HPC datacenters across multiple countries including the United States, Bhutan, Norway, Canada, Malaysia, and Ethiopia.
Position Overview
Bitdeer is constructing a large-scale AI cloud infrastructure platform spanning multiple regions, hosting over 10,000 GPUs, targeting external customers. To support rapid expansion across diverse data centers and geographies, the company seeks an experienced Cloud Project Manager. This role will oversee the full lifecycle delivery of complex infrastructure and cloud platform software projects such as data center construction, multi-thousand GPU cluster deployment, software product development, feature rollouts, and regional expansions. The Project Manager will collaborate closely with infrastructure engineering, software teams, operations, vendors, and company leadership to ensure timely, budget-conscious, and quality delivery of mission-critical AI computing platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of project delivery for AI cloud infrastructure and software initiatives including new data center construction, GPU cluster setups (1,000 to 100,000 GPUs), network deployments, cloud platform software development, feature implementation, and geographical expansions.
- Manage the software product project components such as control plane, tenant management, billing and quota systems, API/portal interfaces, job scheduling, observability tools, and other platform modules through all project phases up to release.
- Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation including plans, schedules, milestones, resource allocation, and risks; drive projects to meet deadlines and budget targets.
- Coordinate multifaceted teams—covering compute, network, storage, control plane, software engineering, data center operations, and third-party vendors—to align deliverables, manage dependencies, and integrate functionalities.
- Oversee relationships with external vendors and contractors such as colocation providers, hardware suppliers, ISPs, and system integrators by negotiating timelines, tracking outputs, and resolving escalations.
- Set up and manage governance meetings including steering committees, sprint and release planning, weekly status updates, milestone assessments, and reporting to executives.
- Synchronize infrastructure and software development schedules to guarantee cohesive platform readiness with each regional launch.
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and obstacles; lead resolution efforts across organizational boundaries.
- Define and uphold project management practices, templates, and processes including change management, RAID logs, status reporting, and Agile ceremonies to facilitate scalable, repeatable delivery.
- Monitor and report project key performance indicators such as delivery speed, adherence to schedule, budget variances, sprint metrics, and the use of resources.
- Support capacity planning and forecasting by providing timeline insights to leadership.
- Lead post-project evaluations and lessons learned sessions to enhance future project efficiency and effectiveness.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields; PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification is preferable.
- At least 7 years of project management experience specifically within cloud infrastructure, data center construction, or cloud platform software product delivery.
- Demonstrable success in managing complex multi-workstream projects encompassing both infrastructure (e.g., large-scale data center builds, compute/network rollouts) and cloud platform software products (control plane, billing systems, APIs, scheduling) ensuring timely and budget-aligned completion.
- In-depth knowledge of cloud infrastructure components including compute servers equipped with GPUs/CPUs, networking technologies such as Spine-Leaf architecture, InfiniBand, SDN, storage solutions, and data center essentials like power and cooling.
- Strong grasp of cloud platform software architecture including multi-tenant control planes, Kubernetes, microservices design, API development, continuous integration and deployment, and release management.
- Experience managing cross-regional or international infrastructure and software projects involving distributed teams and multiple vendors.
- Excellent skills in stakeholder communication with engineers, senior leaders, and external collaborators.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies including Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches; proficiency in tools such as Jira, Microsoft Project, Confluence, or equivalents.
- Strong abilities in risk management, problem-solving, and decisive actions in dynamic, high-pressure environments.
- Preferred experience in AI/HPC infrastructure, GPU cloud operations, or management of hyperscale data center projects.
- Fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese, spoken and written, to facilitate cross-regional coordination among global teams.
Work Environment and Benefits
- A workplace culture that embraces authenticity as well as diversity of ideas and backgrounds.
- An inclusive setting offering open office spaces and an energetic startup atmosphere.
- Opportunity to work in a rapidly growing company and network with leaders and enthusiasts in the digital asset sector.
- Chance to make direct impact and contribute to the evolution of the digital asset industry.
- Engagement in new initiatives and development of internal processes and systems.
- Emphasis on personal responsibility, autonomy, accelerated professional growth, and learning opportunities.
- Competitive welfare benefits alongside professional development options like training and mentoring.
