About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Clinical Manager to join a reputable aged care facility in Christchurch. This position demands a hands-on, visible leader to provide clinical guidance and oversight across the nursing and care teams, delivering top-quality, individualised care in a supportive, community-oriented setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the clinical team to uphold high standards in resident care.
- Ensure clinical practices, documentation, and care planning comply with regulatory and quality standards.
- Focus on quality assurance, risk management, and continuous clinical improvements.
- Offer clinical mentorship and guidance to Registered Nurses and care workers.
- Monitor clinical metrics and identify areas for enhancement.
- Assist with incident management, audits, assessments, and compliance activities.
- Collaborate with residents, their families/whānau, general practitioners, and allied health professionals.
- Guarantee personalised care aligns with each resident's preferences, goals, and needs.
- Support ongoing staff development, education, and maintenance of clinical competencies.
- Foster a respectful, collaborative, and positive team culture.
- Be an accessible and proactive clinical leader within the facility.
Candidate Profile
- Registered Nurse with a current New Zealand registration and Annual Practicing Certificate (APC).
- Experience in an aged care environment, with a comprehensive understanding of New Zealand's aged care standards and regulations.
- Proven leadership experience in roles such as Clinical Manager, Clinical Lead, Unit Manager, or senior nursing positions.
- Strong expertise regarding clinical standards, compliance, and best practices within aged care.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building capabilities.
- Organised and decisive with clinical acumen.
- Proactive attitude towards quality improvement initiatives.
- Commitment to resident-centered care respecting dignity and personal choice.
- Ability to build trust and foster positive relationships with residents, families/whānau, and staff.
- Comfortable leading through hands-on involvement and presence.
