About the Role
The Cleaning & Waste Coordinator is vital for ensuring excellent cleanliness, hygiene, and waste management during a sporting event in Riyadh, from November 15, 2026, to February 13, 2027. This role requires a highly organized and detail-conscious professional capable of efficiently managing cleaning and waste disposal operations throughout the event.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all cleaning operations before, during, and after the event to keep the venue pristine and welcoming.
- Create and execute detailed cleaning schedules and protocols that uphold stringent cleanliness standards across the venue.
- Lead and supervise the cleaning team by assigning tasks, supervising their work, and offering training and support as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with local environmental laws by enforcing proper waste segregation and disposal practices.
- Work closely with vendors and suppliers to secure required cleaning materials, equipment, and waste management tools.
- Carry out frequent venue inspections to spot areas needing cleaning or maintenance and promptly implement corrective measures.
- Handle cleaning emergencies swiftly and coordinate with involved parties to resolve any issues effectively.
- Maintain stock levels of cleaning supplies and coordinate timely replenishment to avoid any disruption in cleaning activities.
- Control cleaning budget expenditures by monitoring costs and identifying opportunities to reduce expenses.
- Collaborate with event coordinators, venue managers, and other stakeholders to synchronize cleaning and waste management efforts with the event's goals.
Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrated experience in a related role, preferentially within events or hospitality sectors.
- Comprehensive understanding of cleaning methods, sanitation protocols, and waste management procedures.
- Strong organizational prowess and time management capabilities, with competence in prioritizing multiple responsibilities.
- Leadership skills with the ability to guide and inspire cleaning personnel.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to foster teamwork and stakeholder collaboration.
- Detail-oriented mindset paired with a proactive approach to solving operational challenges.
- Flexibility to work non-standard hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as dictated by the event schedule.
- Knowledge of local waste management and sanitation regulations with an environmental responsibility focus.
- Proficient in fundamental computer applications, especially Microsoft Office tools.
