Position Overview
Based at Derwentside IRC in Consett, County Durham, this full-time Cleaning Operative role involves maintaining cleanliness and safety across multiple accommodation sites. Working hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00am to 5:30pm, totaling 40 hours each week. The position offers a salary of £26,663.57 along with comprehensive benefits.
Role Responsibilities
- Perform assigned cleaning duties to meet established standards within set deadlines.
- Ensure the properties remain safe, hygienic, and suitable for the occupants throughout cleaning tasks.
- Operate cleaning tools, materials, and personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly to maintain safety standards.
- Review property details before site visits and report any safety hazards or maintenance issues identified.
- Handle waste disposal responsibly, following protocols, and promote recycling whenever feasible.
- Provide assistance to colleagues across different locations and participate in inventory handling including delivery, assembly, and removal as needed.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in cleaning within domestic, residential, or large-scale accommodation environments is desirable.
- Ability to work autonomously with strong time management while upholding quality.
- Competent in using IT systems to accurately update records and information.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English are essential.
- Willingness to travel locally and occasionally across the UK, requiring a valid driving license.
