About the Role
QBE Insurance is seeking a Claims Specialist to join their Long Tail Claims team in Auckland. This permanent, full-time position involves managing a commercial liability claims portfolio and handling the triage and registration of new claims. Reporting to the National Claims Manager – Long Tail, the role offers a supportive environment to develop deep expertise in liability claims while delivering excellent experiences to clients and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Register and triage new claims to gain exposure to QBE's liability and financial lines.
- Oversee commercial general liability claims from start to resolution.
- Review policy coverage, carry out investigations, and negotiate fair resolutions.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, brokers, and internal teams through transparent communication.
- Identify ways to enhance claim outcomes, minimize financial leakage, and support risk mitigation.
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment focused on exceptional customer service.
Candidate Profile
- Background in insurance with knowledge of claims processes.
- Experience or strong interest in handling general liability claims.
- Customer-centric with the ability to foster trusted relationships across diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, adept at managing multiple priorities.
- Solid analytical and negotiation capabilities with a balanced commercial mindset.
- Effective collaborator, problem solver, influencer, and confident in managing challenging conversations.
