About the Role
This fully remote position based in Ireland is available both full-time and part-time, offering a salary range between €40,000 and €55,000 depending on experience, with room for negotiation. The employer is a developing claims management firm supporting brokers, managing general agents, and consumers dealing with liability, motor, employer’s liability/public liability injury, and property claims. They seek an experienced Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) to handle claims, particularly focusing on liability and injury cases. The role offers strong autonomy and flexibility, ideal for someone who thrives managing their own portfolio while maintaining excellent client service.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle a portfolio of liability claims with large deductibles (approximately €100,000), managing them from investigation through to settlement.
- Conduct thorough investigations into liability and actively seek early, cost-effective settlements while maintaining precise reserves and regularly updating clients.
- Fully manage interactions with the Injuries Resolution Board (IRB), including reviewing assessments, making decisions on awards, and requesting appropriate fees.
- Prepare quarterly bordereaux, monthly claims reports, pre-renewal reviews, and transfer files for claims expected to surpass the deductible limits.
- Serve as an outsourced claims department for brokers, overseeing roughly 150 files involving motor, employer’s liability, and public liability claims from notification to settlement.
- Coordinate communications with insurers, solicitors, managing general agents, policyholders, and broker clients, gathering necessary information, managing litigation cases, resolving inquiries, and ensuring all files are current and accurate.
Candidate Requirements
- Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) qualification with substantial experience handling liability, motor, and employer’s/public liability injury claims.
- In-depth knowledge of the claims lifecycle, including procedures relating to the Injuries Resolution Board (IRB) or Arbitration Resolution Board (ARB).
- Professional, dependable, and capable of working independently with very little supervision.
- Appreciates and thrives in a flexible, remote working environment.
- Should be an experienced claims handler; this opportunity is not suited for those early in their careers.
