About the Role

Join a dedicated team in Gisborne delivering essential drainage and water infrastructure projects with Downer, a leading provider of integrated services across Australia and New Zealand. Key Responsibilities

  • Install wastewater, stormwater, and drainage systems
  • Lay pipes made of PVC, PE, and concrete
  • Build manholes, chambers, and other related structures
  • Conduct drainage maintenance, renewals, and upgrades
  • Interpret construction plans and technical specifications
  • Ensure adherence to site safety, quality, and environmental standards
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and subcontractors

Candidate Requirements

  • Possess at least a Level 3 Drainlaying qualification
  • Registration with the Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board (PGDB)
  • Experience in drainage and water infrastructure projects
  • Comprehensive knowledge of drainage construction best practices and standards
  • Strong problem-solving skills and proactive approach
  • Effective communication and teamwork capabilities
  • Commitment to health, safety, and quality standards
  • Hold a full Class 1 Driver Licence; Class 2 licence is a plus
