Role Overview
Our client is looking for a Chief Executive Officer to spearhead a new non-life insurance intermediary based in Dublin. This pivotal role entails guiding the business through critical early stages, most notably securing Central Bank of Ireland authorisation and driving operational startup. The CEO will be deeply involved in underwriting oversight, financial management, and regulatory communications, aiming to establish a disciplined, tech-forward commercial insurance business.
Key Responsibilities
- Spearhead the business through the Central Bank of Ireland’s authorisation procedures
- Ensure organisational readiness for registration as an insurance intermediary
- Serve as the designated responsible individual for insurance distribution activities
- Maintain confident and transparent management of ongoing regulatory relationships
- Lead daily operations including underwriting, commercial strategy, and financial governance
- Contribute to the shaping and introduction of commercial insurance products targeting SMEs and technology startups
Candidate Requirements
- Extensive senior-level experience within commercial non-life insurance sectors
- Preferably familiarity with Managing General Agent (MGA) or delegated underwriting authority frameworks
- In-depth understanding of regulated insurance market environments
- Proficiency in leading regulatory dialogue with the Central Bank of Ireland
- Proven track record supporting or steering insurance entities through authorisation or registration processes
- Professional insurance credentials such as ACII, FCII, Certified Insurance Practitioner or APA are advantageous
- Demonstrates hands-on leadership with sound judgement, integrity, and the capabilities essential for a CEO in a regulated context
