Job description
Role Overview
The Chief Executive Content Review is tasked with leading advanced content scrutinies and guiding classification choices for a wide range of regulated media formats including books, films, documentaries, television, OTT platforms, radio, podcasts, video games, digital and social media content, AI-generated works, synthetic media, and other emerging formats. This senior-most technical reviewer within the Content Review division ensures that complex and high-risk content is evaluated with expert regulatory judgment, fostering collaboration within the team to adhere to company policies and procedures.
Core Duties
- Execute operational mandates aligned with the Content Review strategy, vision, and objectives.
- Collaborate with the Content Review team to guarantee timely and efficient content assessment across multiple platforms and channels.
- Report metrics and documentation to the Head of Content Review to assist with monthly KPI tracking.
Advanced Content Classification and Handling of Escalated Cases
- Evaluate complex, sensitive or escalated submissions across various content formats to assure compliance with regulatory standards and classification frameworks.
- Apply accurate and consistent content classification, ensuring appropriate ratings and descriptors are used.
- Advise on borderline or unprecedented content issues, facilitating necessary escalation and regulatory measures.
- Interpret classification guidelines to standardize review processes across the team.
- Maintain transparent and documented classification decisions supported by clear rationales.
- Consider medium-specific nuances when reviewing written, audiovisual, audio, interactive, and digital contents ensuring regulatory context and audience risk are factored in.
- Offer advisory insights to the Head of Content Review regarding regulatory interpretations or policy-level determinations.
AI and Emerging Media Evaluation
- Assess AI-generated, synthetic, interactive, and novel media formats to maintain appropriateness of review methods for advancing media types.
- Detect phenomena such as deepfakes, synthetic vocalizations, and manipulated materials, aiding regulatory judgments.
- Report unclear or unprecedented content for additional policy consultation or specialist analysis.
- Participate in pilot projects implementing AI-assisted review tools to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of content assessments.
- Contribute to understanding emerging trends in media content, supporting continual update of review frameworks aligned with industry progress.
Quality Assurance and Documentation
- Oversee classification decisions made by Executive Content Review staff to uphold quality and uniformity.
- Conduct peer reviews and quality audits to detect mistakes and training needs.
- Support audit processes ensuring decisions remain defensible and align with regulatory demands.
- Identify patterns in classification challenges to bolster continuous improvement and team development.
- Help develop reviewer guidelines, illustrative examples, and supporting documentation.
Workflow and Operational Management
- Track workload and submission numbers to meet review deadlines and maintain service level agreements.
- Assist in distributing assignments among reviewers to optimize efficiency and balance workload.
- Escalate operational hurdles and resource constraints promptly to enable solutions.
- Contribute to performance metric monitoring and reporting alongside the Head of Content Review.
- Promote workflow and process enhancements to heighten review effectiveness.
Reviewer Mentoring and Stakeholder Engagement
- Offer technical direction to Executive Content Reviewers to ensure consistent classification application.
- Facilitate onboarding and training for new reviewers to boost capability and readiness.
- Address classification-related queries to support accurate decision-making.
- Engage with content submitters to clarify submissions and ensure thorough evaluations.
- Cultivate a professional, consistent, and learning-driven culture in the Content Review team.
Interactions and Stakeholder Collaboration
- Internal: Act as senior technical liaison for Executive Content Review team and coordinate with Compliance, Archives, Legal Oversight, and Policy Development teams on cross-functional cases.
- External: Interface with content creators, broadcasters, publishers, and production companies on escalated content as directed. Collaborate with international classification bodies for benchmarking and framework enhancement.
Technical Expertise
- Mastery of media classification regulations (local and federal), gaming, and digital content standards.
- Advanced skills in content tagging, logging, quality assurance, and system integrity.
- Thorough understanding of UAE cultural sensitivities and regulatory landscape.
- Expert in content analysis, rationale composition, and documentation of precedents.
- Proficient in AI content detection, metadata analysis, and identification of synthetic media.
- Fluency in Arabic and English, both written and verbal.

Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor's degree in Media, Communication, Journalism, Law, or a related discipline.
- Preferred certifications in content classification, digital governance, or editorial compliance.
- Minimum five years’ experience in content review, editorial compliance, media regulation, or related areas.
- Proven handling of complex and sensitive content cases.
