About the Role
Located in the picturesque historic town of Topsham near the River Exe, just four miles from Exeter, our client blends traditional pub hospitality with one of Devon's premier dining experiences. They are seeking an experienced and motivated Chef de Partie to join their vibrant culinary team. This position involves preparing and cooking top-quality dishes while managing a designated section of the kitchen to ensure seamless daily operations in a setting devoted to culinary excellence and creativity.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items adhering to quality and presentation standards.
- Manage daily activities within your allocated kitchen section effectively.
- Collaborate creatively to contribute to new recipe and menu development.
- Maintain stringent food safety and hygiene protocols in all kitchen tasks.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service during peak hours.
- Track stock levels and assist in inventory control to reduce food waste.
- Ensure upkeep and proper functioning of kitchen equipment; report malfunctions promptly.
- Provide guidance and training support to junior kitchen staff members.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrable experience in preparing, cooking, and presenting meals professionally.
- Familiarity with various cooking techniques gained from prior restaurant work.
- Strong knowledge of food safety legislation and hygiene practices.
- Ability to maintain composure and attention to detail in high-pressure environments.
- Effective communication skills and teamwork capability.
- A genuine passion for culinary quality and exquisite food presentation.
- Legal eligibility to work in the UK.
- Note: This position does not provide live-in accommodation.
