Role Overview: Chef de Partie
As a Chef de Partie, you will play a vital role behind the scenes, working closely with the Culinary team to deliver safe, efficient kitchen operations and outstanding cuisine that delights guests. Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will contribute to preparing dishes that uphold our high standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consistently professional, approachable, and proactive service while supporting team members.
- Prepare and delegate food production tasks to ensure prompt and uninterrupted guest service.
- Maintain uniformity in food preparation for both à la carte and buffet offerings, following established recipes and quality standards.
- Contribute ideas and feedback during daily shift meetings to enhance kitchen operations.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of menu items, special features, and current promotions.
- Execute station setup and closing procedures according to guidelines.
- Operate kitchen appliances safely and maintain a secure working environment.
- Handle, store, and prepare food safely, adhering to hotel and government food safety regulations.
- Oversee daily functions of assigned kitchen station to ensure smooth operation.
- Uphold cleanliness and safety standards while actively engaging in health and safety initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk continuously throughout shifts.
- Capable of lifting and carrying weights up to 30 lbs frequently.
- Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting activities.
- Occasional climbing of ladders, stairs, and ramps.
Qualifications
- At least 6 years of cooking experience.
- Experience working in a luxury hotel environment with comparable service standards is advantageous.
- Possession of a Red Seal Certificate (Journeyman’s papers) or an internationally recognized equivalent.
- Valid Food Handler Certificate is required.
- Proficient in both à la carte and production cooking techniques.
- Previous supervisory experience in a kitchen setting.
- Self-driven with the ability to make sound decisions independently.
- Demonstrates initiative and capability to operate effectively with minimal oversight.
- Ability to sustain high levels of service even during high-pressure situations.
- Eligible and legally authorized to work in Canada; the employer cannot assist with work authorization.

Compensation
The hourly wage range for this position is between CAD 31.15 and CAD 32.15 gross.
