Position Overview

We are seeking a Chef De Partie to join our vibrant breakfast service team at Crystalbrook Bailey. This role requires managing a section during busy breakfast hours with energy, precision, and consistency. Responsibilities include managing preparation, coordinating with Demi and Commis chefs, maintaining quality and presentation, and assisting senior culinary leaders to ensure smooth service flow.

This is a full-time role working on a rotating seven-day roster that includes early mornings, weekends, and public holidays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Efficiently operate a dedicated section during breakfast service, maintaining high standards of flavour, quality, and presentation.
  • Lead and support junior chefs including Demi and Commis chefs through training and guidance.
  • Manage and organize daily food preparation, stock levels, and service priorities.
  • Collaborate closely with culinary leadership to facilitate smooth kitchen operations.
  • Utilize high-quality ingredients responsibly, focusing on waste reduction and seasonality.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience running a section in a high-volume restaurant, hotel, or similar kitchen, with breakfast service experience highly regarded.
  • Holds a Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent recognized qualification.
  • Possesses strong culinary skills balancing speed, quality, and presentation effectively.
  • Experienced in supervising, mentoring, and supporting junior kitchen staff.
  • Sound knowledge of food safety protocols, hygiene standards, and workplace health and safety regulations.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail managing preparation and service tasks.
  • Positive team player with clear communication abilities.
  • A commitment to sustainable sourcing, using seasonal produce, and minimizing food waste.
